Team Leader

SF Recruitment have an exciting opportunity recruiting for a Team Leader for a manufacturing business based in Swadlincote. You will be responsible for support for assigned production areas. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday-Friday finishing at 12 on Fridays.

As the Team Leader you will be required to provide support in with the overall business plans. You will oversee general work areas and prioritise workloads and orders.

Ideal candidate will be someone who has worked at either operative level and looking for a step up or someone who has had a short stint in a team leader position.

Main Duties:
Overall day to-day running of assigned area on a designated shift in support of the Supervisor (Value Stream Leader)
Execute the daily production plans issued to the assigned area, offering support and adaptibilty when necessary
Support the VSL & VSM to achieve orderbook requirements and Sales Targets driven by the business
To ensure full loading of direct operators to maximise production output and achieve the daily plan
Support the assigned area to focus on Scrap Reduction, Profitibilty, Absence Control, H&S and Continuous Improvement Initiative
Maximising the performance and efficiencies of their assigned area as well as any shared function
Ensure that their team is motivated and working in a productive and positive atmosphere
Promotes a good standard of housekeeping and 5S
Full control over production teams adhering to MIS & SOPs
Assist Value Stream Leader on a day to-day basis and also cover in their absence
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental procedures and requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation within the job holder's responsibilities
Support and coordinate stock taking activities for their area of responsibility
Support Safety@Work within their area of responsibility, developing a safety culture, conducting risk assessments and safety level audits
Support 5s initiatives and all Lean/ CI projects: Lead minimum of 3 Six sigma/ Lean events in year
Create electronic supporting documents to present to all levels, being able to analyse and understand data collected

Ideal candidates will need excellent communication skills with basic financial acumen. You will need technical acumen to solve technical and production issues and utilize basic manufacturing tools such as 5S, Lean etc.
