The Role & Responsibilities
  • Apprentices will work alongside existing Full Stack engineers within the technology team aligned to our Consumer Lending or Enterprise business and will be involved in greenfield projects and the progression of current systems
  • Work with the existing team to provide continuous system improvements and deliver new features, enhancements and functionality using Agile methodologies, ensuring that quality standards are met and that a product delivery focused approach is applied throughout
  • Develop software to further our product delivery objectives, creating simple, clean and well documented code
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team, to help create automated tests to ensure the quality of the software
  • Understand business requirements during backlog refinement sessions and take responsibility for implementing the most appropriate solution
  • Work with the support team to assist with deployments and monitoring of services into production
  • Document details of system amendments / enhancements in both code comments and online
The Person
  • You will have to have the right to work in the UK and to have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years
  • GCSE grade 4/5, C or above in Maths and English is required to join any of our apprenticeship programmes
  • You’ll either be in Year 13 or equivalent working towards completing your studies in summer 2023 or looking for your next career move with the opportunity to study towards achieving a (level 4) apprenticeship starting in September 2023
  • A motivation and desire to pursue a career in the respective apprenticeship qualification route
  • Ideally working knowledge of MS Office applications, an understanding of how spreadsheets and data packages can be used to analyse data (not essential)
  • Reliable, adaptable & flexible

  • “Can do” attitude, very good problem solving
  • Willingness and desire to learn fast and acquire new skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work as part of a team
