Position Overview & Specifications
Sheffield City Council’s Housing Repairs Service carries out repairs and maintenance to over 42,000 Council homes.
This year, we are offering an amazing 19 Apprenticeship opportunities to launch your career in the Trades services with a September 2023 start.
The 19 Apprenticeship opportunities are available across six different Trades: Electricians; Gas Fitters; Painters; Joiners; Warehouse Operatives; and Business Support/Co-ordinators.
As an Apprentice, you will:
- Receive a great rate of pay whilst you learn
- Be fully funded to complete a recognised qualification
- Receive one day off the job per week for study leave at college (during term time)
- Receive hands-on/practical experience in an experienced team environment
- Have a great peer support network
- Have the potential to secure a permanent job with us upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship.
Qualifications:
For all Joiners, we are looking for (or working towards) a Level 3 / Grade D (in English and Maths).
The Joinery Apprenticeship is a three year qualification.
