Role Overview & Responsibilities

As Associate Dean for Business and Enterprise, you will provide visible strategic leadership and direction at college level on matters relating to business and enterprise, in a way which supports and enables Sheffield Hallam's ambition to be the world's leading applied university.
Working closely with the Dean of College, Associate Deans and departmental leadership teams, your leadership remit will include ensuring the overall quality of business and enterprise related academic provision across the college, including ensuring the wellbeing of related staff, and the sustainability of resourcing.
You will also join the College Leadership Team, responsible for delivering success and ensuring the wellbeing and development of staff and students right across the college.
This is a key leadership role within the college. As well as a strong academic profile relevant to the college, you will have substantial experience of successful business and enterprise development. This will be combined with leadership and management skills and experience, including:
  • Significant experience of leading academic colleagues, including strategy development
  • Exemplary people management skills
  • Evidence of effective leadership behaviours and judgement
  • Evidence of building partnerships internally and externally and of collaborative working right across an institution.
  • Evidence of building partnerships across the health and social care setting
You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the HE environment in the context of business and enterprise, relevant to the college.
