Position Overview & Specifications

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful individual to further develop their existing abilities in maintaining a large enterprise data network; focusing on the support and implementation of edge and core switching/routing, wireless, datacentre switching and WAN network technologies.

We are seeking to supplement our current team with an energetic Network Engineer with strong network service skills. The successful individual will be involved in delivery and support of a range of network service solutions and assist in the delivery of our programme of network technology modernisation.

The Network Delivery Team is responsible for the design and delivery of all network infrastructure services to the Trust. These services include:

High speed, highly available network services

Network configuration & support services

Firewall & security services

Remote access services

The successful individual will need to have expertise in one or more of the following:

Supporting enterprise network infrastructure and services

Supporting the connectivity of enterprise wireless client devices

Supporting WAN connectivity to remote sites

Network management and administration, alerting and reporting using modern protocols

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 18 months due to the post being recruited as part of a limited term project within the Trust. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the requirement for the post to be maintained as a part of the project’s implementation and the timescales associated with this.
