What is my role as Food Runner Manager?

The food runner department is an essential part of the support team across the ground floor of Sketch. The team of 12 to 15 food runners ensure that all food is delivered to all 3 outlets throughout the day and evening services.

The food runner manager will be in charge of the team, from producing their schedule and managing holidays to training and development to ensure grooming, uniform and work standards are respected at all time.

The role will report to the Director of Operations and its team, and will be an important liaison between the restaurant teams and the kitchen team.

Food runners have the following main responsibilities:

- ensuring all crockery and cutlery is polished for kitchen and restaurants to use

- carry all food items from the kitchen to the restaurants

- keep their work area clean and organised

The food runner team deals with expensive items and must make sure that breakages are minimised by ensuring best practices in the handling and storage of these items.

The role is hands on and requires someone with the ability to lead a team and participate in the tasks while monitoring others' work.
