Permanent

Work Pattern: Monday, Tuesday (full days) and Wednesday (morning)

2023 brings exciting changes and transformation to our 0-25 Family Help and Adolescent Services in South Tyneside. Aligned to local and national family policy reform, we are keen to bring the very best practitioner to positions which champion and deliver our bold ambitions for children and families.

We have established new roles to enable the delivery of measurably improved outcomes for children, young people and families. All roles will provide an approach and culture which is in tune with South Tyneside’s vision and values of being clear on where we are, where we need to go and how we are going to get there; encouraging and supporting comprehensive development and learning opportunities; enabling a clear alignment between what we need to achieve and the resources we have available to achieve that; and making fair, informed and appropriate decisions.

Early Years Practitioner

The postholder will undertake the delivery of interventions through direct parent/carer support and role modelling practice with children, ensuring high quality practice and provision to enable children to reach their optimum potential. The role will provide universal, prevention and intervention support, activities and programmes to children, parents/carers and families in line with the Family Hub core offer.

The postholder will have an allocated base, but as part of the wider Early Year Practitioner team, will work across Early Help sites, other community settings and within family homes to maximise service availability and ensure coverage.

The postholder will facilitate and co-facilitate packages of innovative and evidence-based group work and individual programmes to improve outcomes for children.
We are seeking applicants who will bring a can-do approach, with a positive energy and strengths based aspirational outlook for the families and communities they are responsible for serving. A sound understanding of the child development, ability to engage families, and experience of providing group programmes is required, but most important is the enthusiasm to assure our services are the very best they can be. Postholders will bring experience of working in partnership with parents and multi-agency working.

For full details of the positions, please see the attached job description and person specification.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact:
