JOB TITLE: Administration Support Officer (Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales - Violence Prevention Unit)
GRADE: 5/6 £25,758 rising to £30,375
BASED AT: Bridgend, Cardiff and Hybrid working (to be agreed)
HOURS: 37 per week
TENURE: 2 years fixed term
OPEN TO: 29.03.23 – 19.04.2023 12PM
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Violence Prevention Unit, to assist with the smooth running of this new venture and to co-ordinate and support the activities conducted by the staff working in this small team.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong competence in managing and co-ordinating in an office/unit environment, have experience of collating analysing and disseminating information. They must be educated to at least GCSE A-C level standard (including Maths and English). The ability to speak Welsh, and experience of working in a partnership environment are both an advantage but are not considered essential for this post. Essential skills are required however in planning and organisation, and customer service, as is the ability to work effectively and flexibly within a small team. The Violence Prevention Unit is a collaborative project between the Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable for South Wales, Public Health Wales and other key partners. Funded through the Home Office Serious Violence fund, with investment from a range of partners including South Wales Police and Public Health Wales, the Unit represents a high profile, high priority programme for policing and our partners. Our vision and ambition is to build a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary centre of expertise to drive a collective response to tackling and preventing all forms of violence, building on existing ground-breaking work in Wales to tackle violence and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
