Job Description

Role: Technical Co-ordinator
Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 Hours a week plus a 1 in 9 standby rota
Salary: Starting Salary £34,288 plus additional standby and call out payments.
Location: Horsham

We are looking for someone to use their knowledge and keen eye for quality to ensure compliance standards on our water production sites in Horsham a is always upheld. This involves undertaking site audits to ensure site cleanliness, site safety, environmental management, and maintenance tasks are consistently undertaken, and meet our internal compliance standards. As such you will demonstrate a strong technical and operational background, with clear drive for continuous improvement. You will be key team player, assisting Field performance managers deliver work or by stepping in to help coordinate or support the team during an operational event, or in the delivery of work to address health and safety risks in the Sussex area. You will use your strong communication skills to engage with contractors, ensuring that quality work is delivered safely and to budget, and is compliant with key regulations. An important element of your role will be managing spot audits by our regulators and liaise effectively with them and associated governing bodies. You will travel to various sites and reside close enough for a standby arrangement every 9 weeks.

You will be responsible for the effective running of the team in the absence of the Field performance manager as they will deputise for leave and delegated requirements, meeting performance continuity for an operational area and role succession. Indeed, this role can be as a fantastic platform for skilled and talented individuals to progress into management and leadership roles in the future.

This role is varied with an opportunity to work in a wide range of diverse activities across a number of sites with a wide range of contractors and Southern Water staff. To be considered for this role you will need to have experience in the utilities section, ideally water.
