Specsavers in Barry have relocated into a brand new store, near the beach, and we’re growing quickly. We have all new, cutting-edge testing equipment in every room. We’re growing our clinical team and we’d love you to join us. We’re seeking an Optometrist, prepared to undertake Pre-Reg supervision, to join our dynamic team at Specsavers in Barry. Ideally, you would be two years qualified, but personality is more important to us, so newly qualified are welcome to get in touch too. You’ll need to have been qualified for a minimum of 2 years, to be considered.

Our Optometrist team are starting to specialise in different areas of Optometry that they have a passion for, so tell us what makes you tick! We may be able to support you to reach your goals, as we have for the rest of our team.


You’ll become a valued part of an experienced team; collectively we have over 150 years of optical experience and our partner, Helen, is a lecturer at Cardiff University.


Barry is a vibrant coastal town with a bustling High Street, gorgeous parks and the Goodsheds and Innovation Quarter – a shopping, eating and relaxing destination featuring independent businesses in an industrial heritage setting.


What’s on Offer?

  • Basic salary up to £65,000 (depending on experience)

You’ll need to be a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and the willingness to build upon our customer-focused culture. As part of our team, you’ll need to be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
