About the store

Specsavers in Newton Abbot first opened its doors in 1992. The store sits in a prominent position on Queen Street and is firmly embedded within the local community. They have a loyal and growing customer base that is very diverse and includes members of the large local community, in addition to significant passing trade from all walks of life.

The store prides themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews, with the store holding a current rating of 4.5/5 and an excellent local reputation.

Newton Abbot is a 5 test room store, all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology, including OCT, meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards.

A team of 25 dedicated colleagues call this store home. The existing Partners are really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Retail Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements and build the team further as required.

Store Location

The store is located in the beautiful market town of Newton Abbot, a bustling South Devon town famous for its racecourse. The town boasts regular indoor and outdoor markets, a range of high street and independent stores as well as plenty of cafes, restaurants, parks and garden centres. Newton Abbot’s central location means that Dartmoor National Park and coastal towns such as Teignmouth and Torquay are only 20 minutes’ drive away. There are excellent transport links; a train station within walking distance from the store with a direct link to Exeter and main roads such as the A30 and A380 nearby.

Requirements of the role

Alongside being an existing retailer with a strong and proven background within optics, you will also have the drive, passion and willingness to ensure a customer-focused team and role model high standards to continue the success of this store. As the new Retail Partner, you will be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the new teams, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
