The successful applicant will be working as part of the Corporate Solutions Delivery and Support Group. This is a challenging role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and versatile individual to help us on our journey to the cloud.

Reporting to the Oracle EBS Technical Team Leader you will be mainly responsible for the day-to-day technical support and development of SSE’s business critical Harmony application, currently running on Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) version 12.2.9. You will also be responsible for design, development, system testing, UAT and rollout, of both technical software enhancements and additions to any EBS module within Harmony.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role:

  • Working to defined standards, provide support, estimation, design, and development input into new developments to our core applications.
  • Support of our existing EBS configuration, customisations, and extensions; responding to support calls raised, investigating root causes for errors, and effectively managing Service Requests and Bugs with Oracle.
  • Working with Technical Architecture to understand the Oracle technology roadmap and assist with design on major new development or upgrade projects.
  • Provide impact assessment, deployment and regression support of infrastructure support packs and patches.
  • Designing and developing small scale fixes, enhancement requests, and managing delivery to agreed timescales.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • In-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of the key technologies, structures, tables, and interactions between the modules that underpin Oracle EBS 12.2 and how they can be utilised to develop robust, efficient, and scalable solutions.
  • Have a proven background in Oracle PL/SQL and Workflow development for Oracle eBusiness and ideally have experience of Oracle Cloud offerings (OIC & OCI), developing Java, Web ADI, Oracle OAF or Fusion apps. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Command Centre and AWS administration is extremely desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent technical computing, analysis, design, and development skills to a proven professional level.
  • Able to take ownership of problems and requests as well as the ability to work in a pressurised environment.
  • Possess a strong desire and ability for constant learning, coupled with willingness and ability to share technical knowledge and drive improvements and innovation within the team.
