IT Summer Placement

Duration: 12 weeks commencing June 2023

Location: Perth

Salary: Circa £20,100 per annum pro rata

Our Thermal IT Analyst summer placements provides real hands-on experience through a 12 week placement in our Thermal IT team. Throughout placement, you will have the support of a business mentor and manager, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential.

Working as part of our multi-disciplined Agile IT Delivery team, we have the opportunity for a student to gain the knowledge and experience needed to work towards as Product analyst role. You will need the ambition to become an IT professional.

You will work with our IT teams on a selection of initiatives, helping to shape solutions to real life business challenges; the work can include creating Product and Design stories, capturing business processes and requirement, visiting power stations and building up a rich media profile of our Thermal business.

Our summer placement students work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward. There will also be networking and presentation opportunities, specialist sessions and support from our graduates.

What do I need?

We have opportunities for those studying any degree. Our opportunities are open to students who are in their third year of their degree onwards or those who have already graduated.

We'd love you to have some practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSE and the prospect of a long-term future with us.
