About the Role
- Based at our MRF in Avonmouth
- Shift patterns are 6am - 2pm / 2pm -10pm / 10am - 6am on a weekly rotating basis.
What will I be doing as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter?
- You will carry out planned maintenance tasks, inspections and servicing of refuse processing, recycling and recovery plant and machinery, with all work completed in order to maximise the operational efficiency.
- That means making sure plant installations and modifications meet the latest standards and regulatory requirements.
- You'll carry out assessments of malfunctioning equipment, advise supervisory staff of corrective actions required, then ensure the right procedures are followed to get the equipment working again, making sure all company health & safety policies are adhered to.
What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)
- Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge,
- To join us in this key position, you’ll have mechanical adn electrical background
- You'll have worked / be working in a similar maintenance fitter in manufacturing / production engineering environments, having gained hands on knowledge of equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics with any basic electrical fault finding experience highly beneficial.
- Ideally qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, with IOSH desirable, but can be gained.
