Position Overview & Specifications
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domiciliary Care Worker to join our team. As a Domiciliary Care Worker, you will provide care and support to elderly and vulnerable adults in their own homes. You will be responsible for ensuring that clients are provided with high-quality care and support that meets their individual needs, promoting their independence, dignity and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and support to clients, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, medication administration and meal preparation
- Undertaking household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry and shopping for clients
- Promoting the independence of clients by supporting them with activities of daily living and enabling them to participate in social and recreational activities
- Providing emotional support to clients and their families, ensuring that they feel valued and respected
- Working in partnership with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, to ensure that clients receive holistic care that meets their needs
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care and support provided, and reporting any concerns or changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Adhering to all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety, infection control and confidentiality
- Undertaking training and development to ensure that your knowledge and skills are up-to-date and relevant to the role
Requirements:
- A compassionate and caring nature, with a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of elderly and vulnerable adults
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to undertake training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
- The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- A full UK driving license and access to a car are desirable but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £10.10-£15.55 per hour
