Position Overview & Specifications
Swansea Bay Ophthalmology department has a large Outpatient presence in Singleton, Neath Port Talbot hospitals and various community hubs.
The successful candidate will be joining a busy Ophthalmology admin team of medical secretaries, service coordinator and clerk / typists, all working together to provide efficient and effective support in delivering a high quality service to patients and staff.
To undertake a variety of Ophthalmology admin duties that will include
Liaise with patients via telephone to obtain information and input clinical data to an electronic patient record as part of transition to paperless hospital records.
Assist with booking specific outpatient clinics
Assist with updating process for recording clinic outcomes for patients
Complete data collection excel spreadsheets
Complete staff proformas for sickness and annual leave clinic cancellations
Maintain and update patients record details within the appropriate patient information system
Update patient details e.g. change of address, surname, G.P. ensuring case-notes update to agreed standard including printing of new labels.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers
