Role Overview & Responsibilities

SWL Security services are looking for additional Community Safety Wardens to join the current Street Team to assist them in supporting a multitude of retail, hospitality and corporate sites in London - Paddington on a 40 hour per week, full-time contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an SIA Approved Contractor in a unique, specialist role genuinely bridging the gap between businesses, communities and the police. Your role will include visiting businesses and organisations within the Paddington area and dealing with low level crime on their behalf, as well as helping local community policing teams to deter offences such as drug related crime and anti-social behaviour.

As an SWL Street Team member you will work in partnership with the communities you serve to maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their property, prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality the public’s experience when visiting the area. You will use a range of technology to protect individuals, identify the perpetrators of crime and ensure successful prosecutions against those who break the law.

The ideal candidate will be flexible as the role requires you to work a week of day shifts followed by a week of evening shifts, see current shift pattern below;

Week 1: 09:00 to 17:00 (Tuesday - Saturday)

Week 2: 15:00 to 23:00 (Tuesday - Saturday)

This role is suitable for objective driven and results orientated people that want to make a difference in their community. Ideally suited to people that are looking for long term employment and to gain experience in this specialist field of security work.

Job Type: PAYE

Salary: £12.53/hour

Licence types required for role:

• SIA Licence Security Guarding
• SIA Licence Door Supervisor
• SIA Licence Close Protection

Other Requirements:

• Five year checkable employment / education history for vetting purposes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
• Basic computer skills.
• Good customer service skills and a professional attitude to work.

Special Advantages:

• A good command of spoken Romanian would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Previous law enforcement experience is advantageous.
