Position Overview & Specifications

Our HR Team at Synnovis is currently looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the business on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Working in true partnership with a number of key business departments and senior management teams, this role will focus on providing high quality and timely HR Advice & ER Case Management to all managers and employees at all levels and across all locations.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Previous HR experience at Advisor level
  • Substantial experience of Employee Relation case management within an HR environment, providing advice on a wide range of employee relations and employee development issues.
  • Experience in managing complex and sensitive employment relations issues to Tribunal level.
This is a critical role within our existing HR support team. A collaborative and flexible approach is essential with the ability to build trust and confidence in others, helping to develop strong relationships across the wider business. It’s important you’re able to operate self-sufficiently, be the expert in the room, able to look beyond the legal parameters and offer pragmatics ideas and solutions to challenging situations.

This is a full-time, hybrid working position based in our offices near Blackfriars and will support our London sites, including Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and a site in Orpington.
  • Support the wider HR Team, with effective and professional HR advice and whilst providing HR Business Partners a tailored, business-focused, operational HR advice on the people implications of business plans and other developments and improving the core HR service to meet customers’ expectations.
  • Act as a point of contact for managers and employees, requiring advice and guidance on HR transactional processes and procedures.
  • Provide first line advice on employee relations related policy issues such as discipline or grievance.
  • Support all aspects of ER case management and administration.
  • Interpret HR policies and employment legislation, advise on risk management, coach and support managers in handling change processes and complex casework whilst championing cultural standards.

  • Advise those with people management responsibilities on routine enquiries relating to terms and conditions of employment, including a broad range of HR and employee relations issues including sickness absence, discipline, grievances and employee development, the performance planning and review process, pay review process and equal opportunities with the aim of reaching reasonable conclusions using the relevant organisational policies & procedures.
  • Advise and support managers and employees in the effective management of employee performance issues.
  • Advise and support in the effective management of employee absence/ sickness issues ensuring that relevant policy and procedures consistently are followed.
  • Support and contribute to the drafting, formulation, and implementation of Synnovis HR policies and procedures as required.
  • Regularly brief the Senior HRBP and HRBP’s on developments and areas of concern to ensure that additional support or interventions may be identified and applied or needs to be escalated.
  • Liaise with HR colleagues in producing HR and workforce reports as required, analysing data and responding appropriately to indicators identified.
  • Take a proactive role in the communication and dissemination of new policies and procedures, ensuring managers are trained and competent in their application.
  • Maintain oversight of the key HR processes providing support to managers and employees and escalation to the appropriate HRBP when non-compliance is identified.
  • Ensure that correct records are maintained on employee files including Right to Work monitoring and renewal.
