Role Overview & Responsibilities

Part time cook needed - Kenfig Hill, Bridgend

Talbot Community Centre runs a dedicated lunch club on a Friday which is contracted for 6 hours per week. We currently offer a Warm Space on Tuesdays which is 5 hours overtime per week. This is in addition to any ad hoc overtime available for functions/birthday parties etc. Offering a variety of nutritious meals to our customers, the cook will report to the Centre Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. 1. Preparation and cooking of all food for service in establishment and where necessary outside operations to the standards laid down by the Management.

2. Setting up of Servery Counter/Point of Service of Food, practising portion control as per guidelines, also ensuring good food presentation.

3. Preparation and carrying of food and equipment to point of sales area and cleaning afterwards. Also the setting up of the dining area where applicable.

4. Washing up of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils, ensuring food Health & Safety practises.

5. Removal of waste products and rubbish from all eating areas.

6. Maintaining a clean work area by regular cleaning of all equipment, store rooms and ancillary areas.

7. Ensure Health & Safety practises by:

· Reporting of faulty equipment

· Observation of hygiene regulations

· Ensuring that food is stored correctly and at correct temperature

8. Promote and sell through encouragement and friendliness towards the customers and portraying a professional approach through correct dress and appearance.

9. Identify own training needs and undertake training as required.

10. Complete individual timesheet and submit to office monthly.

11. To undertake such duties as may be reasonably required of you commensurate with your salary grade and within your capabilities.

Part-time hours: 6 per week contract - overtime available

Salary: £10 per hour

Job Type: Part-time
