Position Overview & Specifications

Job Title: Head of Physical Education Teacher

Location: Salford, Greater Manchester

Salary: MPS/UPS £28, 000 - £43, 685 (+TLR available).

Full-time, Monday – Friday, Permanent opportunity available for successful applicant.

Start Date: September 2023 (or earlier).

An Ofsted rated 'Good' school based in Salford are seeking a committed and dedicated PE Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis starting from September. If you have a strong background in physical education, a commitment to promoting health and well-being, and a desire to inspire young minds through sports and physical activities, we want you to be part of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality physical education lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting skill development, fitness, and an active lifestyle.
  • Inspire and motivate students to participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities, fostering a love for physical education.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to students' diverse abilities and interests, ensuring inclusive participation and achievement for all.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes well-being, resilience, and teamwork.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback, tracking individual performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the PE curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching strategies and utilising appropriate resources.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and the wider community to promote the value of physical education and the benefits of an active lifestyle.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in physical education, sports science, and health and safety practices.

Requirements:

  • Must have QTS or equivalent, with relevant a subject specific qualification.
  • Ability to teach the National Curriculum for PE across Key stages 3 and 4.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality, lively and effective teaching, which engages and motivates young people
  • Flexible approach with the highest expectations of yourself, your colleagues, and your pupils.
