Trainee Assistant Accountant | £21,000 + study support package | Dewsbury area
The Opportunity
Are you looking to progress your career within a fast paced, modern and exciting growth SME. You will ideally be studying (or looking to start) your AAT qualification which will be fully supported by the company. The role is a great opportunity to get a broad experience within the finance function, covering all aspects of purchase ledger, sales ledger & credit control.
You will be given chance to get more involved in the full finance function downstream as you progress within the role.
The business is expanding rapidly, and is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for their first role within finance.

You will work within a collaborative and friendly finance team and have lots of opportunity to work alongside wider business areas to gain a firm understanding of the group.
The role will initially include:
- Purchase ledger including payment runs and resolving all associated queries where required
- Matching purchase orders to the system
- Month end statement reconciliation
- Supporting with VAT return
- Inputting/ matching delivery notes to purchase orders on the system
- Responsibility for maintaining timely payments for own set of accounts – contacting clients where appropriate and building relationships
- Managing queries from clients and other departments on a daily basis
- Posting cash payments – querying errors where appropriate
You will need
- A proactive approach and a keenness to progress
- Experience within a ledger clerk role or similar would be an advantage
- To be highly motivated
- Proactive approach to solving problems
- Strong qualifications from GCSE or A Level highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident with using IT systems
