Volunteer Digital Marketer

The Chazuka Project is 3 years old meaning we are still in our infancy, so this isn’t your average volunteer post! You will have creative freedom with our social media and a valued input into the development of our brand. Your role will make a huge difference to the lives of people in Malawi as social media is an integral way of sharing our work and message.

This is a chance for you to have a real impact in a small team...

• Volunteer Digital Marketer role - up to 2 hours per week (can be remote)
• Attends regular team meetings (usually once a month)
• Inputs creative ideas and has their finger on the pulse with upcoming trends
• Create engaging content for social media (whether this is TikToks or Canva templates, we want to hear about where your creativity lies)
• Support with the management of the website (including blog writing and ideation)
• Keep the content calendar up to date regularly
• Play a significant role in brand development
• Design the social media strategy in collaboration with the trustees

The roles and responsibilities of the digital marketer will be distributed amongst the team so, don’t worry if this looks like a lot, it is shared in a manageable amount. As much as we are keen for you to get stuck in, we also want you to enjoy it! If you have a particular interest, then we will ensure you get the chance to explore it within your volunteer role.

The social media team is headed by our Digital Marketing Trustee who, with a degree in Marketing and Advertising as well as a wealth of experience in creative agencies, will support you and use their knowledge to help you thrive in the world of social media.

Our ideal Volunteer Digital Marketer

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference... A self-starter, someone buzzing with ideas, ready to make an impact in a small organisation.

Most importantly, we’re looking for somebody with creative energy, fresh ideas and the time to make a stamp on our organisation. We have recently launched our TikTok channel, and are keen to have involvement from the team on content creation and idea generation. You have the opportunity to own a specific platform that you would like to gain experience with using. Alternatively, there are chances to get involved cross-channel and take part in training that will assist with future job applications e.g. how to social media audit or brainstorming techniques.
