Position Overview & Specifications
We are currently seeking a highly capable Category Buyer to support our Category Managers in executing project spend across a specific area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring buying compliance and control, delivering high-quality analysis and spend reporting, and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders.
What does a Category Buyer do at the Crown Estate?
- Execute all project spend across TCE efficiently and effectively
- Support project teams with analysis and spend reporting
- Maintain buying compliance and control
- Ensure payments to suppliers within 30 days by working with budget holders
- Monitor and manage open orders with suppliers in partnership with budget owners
- Create projects in Agresso and produce associated reports
- Resolve internal queries from colleagues to ensure prompt payment to suppliers
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement guidelines
- Be the “go-to person” for support on Purchasing processes for the wider group
- Support finance projects team with Agresso training
- Complete administrative tasks required for effective operation of the sourcing department
How will you add value to The Crown Estate as a Category Buyer?
- An excellent administration background, ideally gained in a purchasing or equivalent environment
- Experience in delivering reports and reconciliations to a high standard of accuracy
- Proficient in working with ERP systems
- Knowledge of VAT regulations
- CIPS qualified or working towards
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others
- Outstanding attention to detail
- The ability to resolve problems efficiently
