School Health Care Assistant
Full time, Monday to Friday - Term Time only
Hours per week: 33.5
Based in Exmouth, Devon
Salary £17,537.49 (actual) Based on a full time equivalent of £20,557
Are you a Healthcare Assistant, from a care or hospital setting, ready to apply your experience to our friendly, multidisciplinary team at the Deaf Academy? In this role you’ll be supported by our Academy Nurse, you’ll have experience of health-related duties, be enthusiastic, confident and able to follow policies & procedures.
Your role will be essential in supporting the medical needs of our children and young people across school, college, our residential flats and our children’s home. You’ll mainly work with our students directly, but you’ll also help support our staff to dispense their medication processes with precision and care. You’ll work with our internal and external therapies teams, supporting our care culture where each individual pupil is at the heart. The role will be full time, 5 days per week, Monday to Friday with an expectation that some evenings and weekends will be worked to support the Residential Care Team.

· Experience of working in a care role, or in administering medication
· Ability to work independently, in following processes and procedures
· A commitment to learning BSL, and becoming deaf aware
· A commitment to professionalism with the ability to provide a professional service
· Flexibility to work in a busy and fast paced organisation
