Assistant Garden Designer / Landscape Architect

Reporting to the Design Manager and working in a small and friendly team, you will be developing garden landscaping designs from initial concept through to client sign-off, making your client’s hopes and dreams for their garden become reality.

As well as creating amazing 2D and 3D domestic garden designs using SketchUp, this role has project responsibilities of providing an accurate quote for the customer and quantifying materials and having designs at different stages.

About you

You may be freelancing and want the security of permanent employment and the perks that come with that. Or you may be doing a similar role and are ready for the next challenge.

The emphasis will be on creating the initial concept, so you need a creative yet practical approach to garden design.

Ideally, you will have a background in horticulture, with some basic garden construction and basic plant knowledge and an interest in gardens and hard / soft landscaping.

You will need to be confident using CAD software; SketchUp ideally. A background in construction or architectural drawing would be beneficial.

A decent head for figures for finalising quotes, producing figures and technical details.

This will be working the complete lifecycle project, including having regular contact with your clients and handling a number of designs at different stages.

Salary: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
