Position Overview & Specifications

Job title: Independent Domestic Violence Advisor
Salary £23,000 - £25,000 (depending on experience)
Hours of work: 37.5 (Full time)
Contract Type: Permanent for as long as THW are able to continue to fund the position.

About the role:
We are recruiting for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work within a well-established team of IDVA’s across the city of Wolverhampton.
As an IDVA at The Haven Wolverhampton you will be supporting high risk victims of domestic abuse heard at MARAC, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work with clients to complete individualised safety and support plans whilst respecting their autonomy, and rights to make their own decisions. You will provide crisis intervention support and work effectively with partner agencies to support your clients to live safe from further abuse.
We are looking for an experienced worker who has the skills to work within a multi-agency setting to provide support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse.

You will be experienced in completed safety and support plans, making onwards referrals, and providing advice to clients around their rights around a range of subjects including housing, criminal justice, and civil interventions.

You will be joining a passionate and motivated team working across Community and Helpline services, where we value democratic working, mutual respect and constructively challenging each other, as well as the status quo.
