Position Overview & Specifications
CARE ASSISTANT
The Hawthorns, a 22 bed residential care home in Birmingham providing care for people over 65 years old.
Ideally to cover a 3pm-10pm shift 5 days a week including weekends
Your role:
- To provide the highest levels of care and ensuring that care plans are followed
- Supporting residents with personal care, such as eating, bathing, laundry, and taking medication
- Maintaining accurate records
- Develop and maintain key relationships with residents, staff, families, and professionals
- Ensuring that Health and Safety practice is maintained to a high standard.
- Empowering service users to be fully involved in decisions and the running of their own service offering meaningful choices and opportunities.
- Ensuring that Residents are kept safe
You will need to have:
- Friendly and approachable personality and a passion for working with people.
- Previous experience and ideally a knowledge of working with older adults.
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care.
- Clear enhanced DBS

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: £10.42-£10.80 per hour

- Care: 2 years (preferred)
