Part time Coffee Shop Supervisor

Hours: Four/Five Days approximately 8 hours per day

Approx. 12:00 Until Close Approx. 18:45 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays

Approx 08:15 Until 14:00 Wednesdays

Optional 12:00 Close Sundays

More hours can be made available if required. Particularly in Summer Months.

Plus Expected to work all All Bank Holidays (Excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day)

Proposed Wage: 11 Per Hour

Requirements of the role:

· Key holder, opening and closing the shop three days a week.

· Manage and lead an effective team on a daily basis putting customer service and quality of product as your first priority.

· Have a good awareness of the happenings in the shop at all times and be ready to problem solve if things start to go wrong.

· Proactively ensure that the shop is kept clean tidy and presentable at all times. Ensuring that staff do the same.

· Ensure the retail looks presentable.

· Keep staff occupied with background tasks during quiet moments.

· Ensure staff focus through the appropriate allocation of roles during busy times.

· Be presentable in appearance and language, ensure staff do likewise.

· Behave in a warm, helpful and professional manner when dealing with customers at all times, ensure staff do the same.

· Supervise the closing team to ensure a thorough timely and efficient shut down of the shop each evening.

· Have a good knowledge of the products on offer at the shop including retail, coffee, plants and food. Assist in the training of other staff members to bring their knowledge to the same level.

· Assist with the implementation of improvements for the shops offering. Contribute ideas for overall improvement of the business.

· Maintain HACCP records and ensure the shop is in good condition to pass EHO Inspection at all times.

· Work with the manager to improve the shops Instagram and Facebook accounts providing regular updates to showcase the shops various offerings, particularly any new products.

· Manage the day to day ordering to make sure the shop continues to run in an efficient manner, including but not exclusive to: Coffee, Diary, Cakes/Pastries, Smoothies, Cleaning products, Soft drinks, Packaging, Alcohol, Sundries.

· Report maintenance issues to the Owner in a timely manner.

· Manage Stock and Control Wastage.

· Deal with basic level staffing issues such as punctuality or absenteeism, refer any issues requiring escalation to owners/manager if needed.

· Partner the chef/kitchen team. Work with them to ensure kitchen standards (both of meals and cleanliness) remain high at all times. Work with the kitchen team in the execution of specials, ensure that any specials are advertised, input on the till system and that staff are knowledgeable about them.

· Conduct careful cash handling, maintain till and safe float, order change and monitor any discrepancies occurring at cash up. Report any variances over £5 per day to owners.

· Assist with the facilitation of check ins for the Air BnB above.
