Position Overview & Specifications

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join a rapidly growing Sports and Events Centre as an Events/Assistant Manager. Our client is a new and thrilling non-profit facility dedicated to enhancing lives through sports and social activities, as well as holding events from private functions to weddings just to name a few! They are looking for a highly motivated individual to work closely with the General Manager, ensuring the facility runs smoothly and delivers exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Sports and Events Centre, including staff management, facility cleanliness, safety protocols, and event coordination.
  • Develop and implement programs and services to enhance the customer experience and increase revenue.
  • Oversee key projects for events, conferences, and sporting tournaments, from organisation to successful delivery.
  • Collaborate in the hiring, training, and scheduling of staff, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management as required.
  • Foster effective communication and coordination of activities among departments.
  • Support the General Manager in monitoring and managing the facilitys budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Cultivate and enhance new and existing client relationships.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and pursue business opportunities.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sports or events management role, with demonstrated experience in staff management and facility operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective interaction with customers, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, driven to explore new possibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • First Aid certification is preferred.
