Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Women’s Community Rehabilitation Service
The Open service delivers the women’s specific work across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall on behalf of Her Majesties Prison and Probation Service This holistic service is delivered by and for women with a strong emphasis on empowerment and a deep understanding of the lasting impacts of abuse and trauma.
The Team Leader will line manage Independent Women’s Practitioners across Dorset and will also carry her own caseload as a Practitioner.
This role will be required to work closely with a range of partner agencies across Dorset and at HMP Eastwood Park
Note that the weighting of the position between Practitioner and Team Leader aspects may vary over time. Initially the split will be 3 days Practitioner and 2 days Team Leader. The salary is based upon a full-time Team Leader position and so allows for the position to become solely a 100% Team Leader role if and when required.
Qualifications and Experience
It is desirable to have a relevant accredited training such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, substance misuse. However at least two years’ experience of direct work with women experiencing severe and multiple disadvantages and/or survivors of domestic abuse and/or sexual violence is important alongside strong skills and experience in providing line management and case management supervision to staff. The ability to undertake risk assessments, safety planning and providing support and targeted intervention is equally relevant. Knowledge of the criminal justice system is very advantageous.
Full driving license and the ability to travel is essential.
