Torpoint Ltd are looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to fulfil the long term role and thrive at the company through establishing their career in the industry with us.
Being a Trainee will consist of working closely with the team of Quantity Surveyors in order to support them in their, in turn this will allow the candidate to pick up on the critical skills needed to be a skilled Quantity Surveyor.
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor you will undertake a Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying and develop into the role of a Quantity Surveyor who is responsible for negotiating and concluding a contract for the supply of work, goods, materials and services. During the development period the Trainee Quantity Surveyor will assist the current surveying team and carry out the following duties:
· Breakdown tender documentation for the distribution between our supply chain at the tender stage of projects to secure new developments.
· Assist with the procurement of Sub-Contractors.
· Assist with the preparation of Sub-Contract/ Supplier Orders.
· Contribute to the preparation of Monthly Valuations.
· Assist with Payment of Sub-Contractors and Cash Flow Forecasting.
· Support the Quantity Surveyor with the preparation of Costs and Budgets.
· Review and undertake site measurements.
· Liaise with all members of the Site team, e.g. Contracts Manager and Site Managers
Must have Skills:
· Disciplined
· Always Punctual
· Proficient in IT
· 5 GCSE’s ranging from 4-9 (Must include maths & English)

Salary: £10,000.00-£15,000.00 per year
