About our Company Our mission at Toumetis is to deliver intelligence that can transform business operations and enable new revenue via the application of machine learning. We combine experience in applied machine learning, frontend development, data engineering, and cloud computing to help Fortune-1000 companies bring elegant IoT solutions to life, surfacing unique insights to predict and prevent problems and improve organisational performance. Our engineers, developers and data scientists share a passion for innovation and are dedicated to providing our customers with solutions that enable new insights that revolutionise business processes. We have a friendly working environment with flexible hours, WFH (1-2 days in the office P/W), regular social events, great coffee and snacks, free parking, ride to work scheme, bike racks, shower facilities and you will be supplied with a MacBook Pro.

Our main office is based in the heart of the wonderful and vibrant city of Bristol around the corner from the SS Great Britain and one of the street artist, Banksy’s infamous works. It is only a short stroll to Cargo and the Harbourside area which boasts a tremendous array of bars, restaurants, cafes and other assorted nice places all ripe for a lunch break visit or relaxing after work.

About our Role The Engineering Analyst role will be to review the three-phase voltage and current waveforms, time-series data, that are captured and displayed on the Cascadence platform. Cascadence presents the data in a particular classification that has been determined by the machine learning algorithms. The role will either validate the classification is correct or assign the appropriate classification.

The Engineering Analyst position will also utilise knowledge of electrical power engineering and circuit analysis to develop models to better understand the performance of the systems that are being measured.

As the Cascadence platform evolves, the role of the Engineering Analyst will also evolve. There will be new event classifications, additional data requirements such as event point-on-wave determination and spectral energy and frequency content determination. Additional duties such as interfacing with the clients may also be required.

Experience you will gain

  • You will become proficient in utilising our Cascadence platform. This will include the ability to visually associate patterns in the waveforms and apply various transforms to validate the classifications.

  • You will be able to understand and explain the taxonomy of the event classifications. There may also be a need to train and supervise junior staff.

  • You will become proficient in the development of documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

  • This role will focus around good interpersonal skills and require some public speaking.

You'll also have access to company paid training services as we're keen for you to grow your skills.

Experience you should have

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Solid writing and presentation skills
  • Some experience with Python
  • A drive to succeed and learn on the job. This position can offer multiple routes of progression within the company.
