Live in Nanny Housekeeper – 4.5 day week – Own Cottage £38k neg /

Family Description and Location

A lovely informal British family with 4 children aged 5-11 are looking for a friendly and experienced nanny housekeeper to come and look after them. They live in a 6 bedroom house near Wallingford (not far from Reading) and about an hour or so outside of London. They have a Labrador that also lives at the property and gardeners that look after the outside areas so this is purely an indoor role. There is not much childcare during term time as Mum does the school run leaving at 7:30am and the children aren’t usually home until 5/6pm. The client lives a short distance from a train station and the Oxford Tube which is a coach directly into London if you are not a driver.

Job Description

· General Housekeeping

· Laundry, washing and ironing

· Simple family cooking (Preparation of breakfast for the children and simple supper for the family (they often eat together at tea time) around 5:30/6pm. Family friendly soups, salads, stir fries, lasagne etc

· Tidying, dusting and keeping the house in order

· Shopping for food and household provisioning

· General errands

· Some pet care such as feeding and walking the family dog

· More hands-on help with the children during the holidays

Candidate Requirements

It is essential that you have worked in a similar role and are able to manage your own day, are happy to cook family style food and are dog and child friendly. This is an informal family where you will be expected to muck in and be treated as one of the family.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary

· Tuesday – Friday with a ½ day Saturday (days off Saturday afternoon/Sunday and Monday)

· Separate 1/2-bedroom cottage not far from main house (Sorry no partners or pets)

· Client is happy to drop you to bus/train stop on Saturday and collect you on Monday if you are not a driver.

· Can potentially provide car for use on duty

· 7am – 7pm – term time with a 2 hour break in the day

· £38K neg / depending on experience

Salary: £38,000.00 per year
