Job overview

Are you a compassionate and caring individual looking to grow your career as a Nursery Assistant in a fun and nurturing environment? If so, then we are looking for enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join our friendly team.

We offer childcare to children from the ages of 3 months to 5 years in our bright and airy nursery. The nursery has a dedicated craft and messy play area and access to a large and secure outside space- so lots of opportunities for adventure for our children! We also have cosy sleeping areas for when they need to rest.

You will be looking after a group of children and ensuring that all their needs are met during the day and that they have fun and engaging activities planned.

We love seeing our children progress, knowing that we've played a key role in their development.

You will plan and carry out a variety of fun activities with the children in line with the Early Years’ curriculum. You are also responsible for evaluating the activities, and for maintaining online learning journals via Tapestry.

There are opportunities for progression (if that is what you are looking for) within Taplins and the wider NHS. . If you are looking to work somewhere you can make a difference, then this could be the job for you as we are always open to new ideas.

Our working hours are between 7am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday, so you need to be flexible to work shift patterns within these hours. Our part time staff work specific days during the week, and our full time posts are worked over 4 days giving you a day off in the week!

What you’ll do

You’ll work as part of a vibrant and caring team meeting the needs of small groups of children.

You also need to be great at liaising with parents/carers

You will be responsible for evaluating the activities, and for maintaining online learning journals via Tapestry- and we can show you how to do this.
