Job summary

UHB is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England, serving a regional, national, and international population.

We are excited to offer a static Band 5 Paediatric Physiotherapy position. The successful candidate would be based within the Paediatric Physiotherapy team at Birmingham Heartland Hospital, but may require some travel for clinics at Good Hope or Solihull Hospital sites. They would hold a caseload including MSK and respiratory patients.

This opportunity would offer working within a supportive team of physiotherapists.

We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist, ideally with some experience of working at Band 5 level, who would like to develop their Paediatric skills and experience. There would be internal supervision and CPD opportunities available.

The team offers flexible working and will consider applicants requesting reduced hours.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

The clinical role of the band 5 Physiotherapy is to be responsible for their own caseload, without direct supervision. They would be based in the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service working within the MSK and Paediatric respiratory teams, primarily at Birmingham Heartland Hospital. The post holder may also be required to work across sites, at Good Hope and Solihull Hospital.

A band 5 receives supervision and development in the form of regular training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and case conferences

There will be opportunities to take part in evidence based audit and research projects to support both teams and clinical practise.

Will be to contribute to a 7 day working rota and with provided training participate on the oncall physiotherapy service

Qualifications

Essential

Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy

Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.

A Levels or equivalent qualification

Registered with Health and Care Professions Council

Experience

Essential

Student placements or qualified clinical work to have provided a broad range of experience in :

Respiratory

Stroke and Neurology

Musculo-skeletal Condtions

Older people

Experience as a student or graduate within an NHS setting, acute or community

An ability to prioritise and organise own workload

An ability to delegate work to assistants and students

An ability to cope with a range of options, analyse, compare, find solutions and decide on a course of action

Demonstrate an interest in developing expertise within Physiotherapy

Demonstrate a professional attitude

Able to take a team lead role in the absence of a senior
