Position Overview & Specifications
The main duties include supporting echocardiographers / cardiologists to meet patient needs, helping to prepare patients for theirs echoes, liaising with patients and other healthcare professionals, offering administrational support and helping transport inpatients to and from their echo.
An echocardiographic assistant should have good interpersonal skills, a knowledge of IT systems, and be a compassionate individual ready to form an integral part of a busy clinical team.
To assist the cardiologists and echocardiographers and administrative staff with all working practices to ensure an efficient standard of service is maintained in the Echocardiogram department.
This may include helping patients prepare for their echo, ensuring patients are aware of their appointments, stock checking, and updating appointments on our IT systems.
The post will also involve an element of portering, in order to ensure the demands of this service can be met in a timely manner.
