Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Sports Service is seeking to appoint two part-time Receptionists to join the front of house team at the University Sports Centre.

The role holders provide an efficient and welcoming reception for visitors. They monitor access to the University Sports Centre, deal with a range of enquiries; including questions regarding the Indoor Cricket School at the Fenner's Cricket Ground, Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, process memberships, take class and court bookings, sign out equipment, and activate emergency procedures.

The successful applicants should have a helpful and positive attitude, strong communication skills, possess strong organisational skills, and be able to work confidently under their own initiative or with direction.

Applicants should have a good general education to GCSE level, including English and Maths. Completion of a customer care course, NVQ or equivalent, would also be an advantage. Previous work experience in a sports centre environment, general office or reception, and prior use of booking systems would be helpful but not essential as training will be provided.

The shifts available are:

Thursdays, 17:15 to 22:15

Saturdays, 07:45 to 14:15

There will also be scope to cover more shifts.

Please state in your application which shift(s) you are applying for.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 4 June 2023, with interviews scheduled for week beginning Monday 14 June 2023.
