Are you an excellent communicator with experience of providing one-to-one guidance to students?
Are you looking for a part-time role that allows you to use your interpersonal and problem-solving skills to make a positive contribution to the student experience?
If so, then this Student Support and Experience Officer role could be a great next step for you. The position will see you working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a wide-ranging pastoral support service to our Lifelong Learning students.
Organised and proactive, you will be able to demonstrate sound judgement and sensitivity in dealing with a range of issues faced by our students, maintaining a high standard of customer-focused support at all times.
As Student Support and Experience Officer you can expect to get involved in:
- coordinating the day-to-day student support service and student events
- managing all aspects of student advice and guidance in close liaison with Programme Managers
- coordinating the regular monitoring of student engagement and related academic diligence
What will you bring to the role:
- the ability to advise on a wide range of student personal and academic issues and to recognise when to refer to others
- strong judgement and initiative with the ability to effectively interpret and apply policies and procedures
- the ability to understand the different backgrounds of entrants to higher education and have insight into the problems that students encounter
