Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking to appoint a part-time (60% FTE) Research Assistant to join a Prudence Trust funded research project, led by Dr Lucy Foulkes, examining potential harms from mental health interventions in secondary schools. The overall aim of the project is to understand why some adolescents experience symptom deterioration and other forms of harm from school-based mental health interventions. The post is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, Anna Watts Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for two years).
You will be providing assistance across the programme of research, including primary data collection (interviews with adolescent participants), secondary data analysis (identifying and accessing existing school intervention datasets, developing and maintaining databases, ensuring data integrity and security) and both quantitative and qualitative methodology.
You will have an undergraduate degree in psychology (2:1 or 1st class), along with experience of setting up and managing large databases. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of analysing quantitative data (e.g. using SPSS or R). A specialist knowledge of and interest in adolescent mental health is essential.
You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.
The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on Monday 20th February.
