Position Overview & Specifications

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the NeuroMetrology lab investigating quantitative neurophysiological and neuropsychological biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease. These will include oculomotor, manual, gait and cognitive tasks and the Research Assistant will report to Professor Chrystalina Antoniades.
The successful applicant will be involved in testing patients with Parkinson’s disease as part of a research clinical trial. They may provide guidance to less experience members of the research group, including PhD, MSC and honours project students. They will also be heavily involved with data analysis and writing up manuscripts.
It is essential that the post holder hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, for example neuroscience, psychology, biology and natural sciences, together with some relevant experience. It is also vital that they hold a Masters degree in Neuroscience and have the ability to manage their own research and administrative activities.
It would be beneficial for the role if the successful candidate has experience of contributing to reports and articles for publication and experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research. It is also desirable that they have knowledge of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

This position is full time and fixed for 12 months until 30th June 2024.
