Position Overview & Specifications

We are seeking to appoint an HR Systems Assistant to support the provision of day-to-day support across a range of HR Systems products including iTrent, Jobtrain and SBX. This includes operational reporting, supporting end-users, and the production and maintenance of staff data.

You will have existing experience of customer support, extracting and manipulating data, and be computer literate with familiarity with O365 applications, in particular advanced use of Excel. Whilst previous experience of using iTrent or a similar integrated HRIS is desirable, the ability to learn and use new systems rapidly is essential.

This post is available now as maternity cover on a fixed term basis until March 2024 as part of a temporary restructure to the HR Systems team whilst a unified HRMS system is procured and implemented. The emphasis on this role is to help ensure current systems remain operationally effective until they are decommissioned.

This post sits within the product support team, reporting to the Lead Systems Administrator and works alongside two other teams delivering business development (product/service development and change management) and data analysis (insights and statutory returns).

The University of Reading offers a competitive salary and pension scheme, 35 days paid leave (including Bank Holidays and Closure days), flexible working arrangements and generous benefits.

Shortlisting will take place immediately after the closing date for applications. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application shortly after. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 24th May. These will be in-person panel interviews on the Whiteknights campus of the University. Full details will be provided in the invitation.

The University is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce, supports the gender equality Athena SWAN Charter and the Race Equality Charter, and is a Diversity Champion for Stonewall, the leading LGBT+ rights organisation.

Please see the job description and personal specification for further details.
