Position Overview & Specifications

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Faculty Education and Student Experience Manager. Working in collaboration with the Faculty’s Education leadership team, you will look for opportunities to improve and deliver our Strategy for Education and Student Experience. Acting as the Faculty specialist in relation to student related education issues, you will also deliver improvements to academic and administrative activities.

You’ll be ambitious in developing plans to ensure outstanding operational delivery across student support professional staff in the Faculty’s seven academic departments and interdisciplinary programmes. This will involve undertaking analysis, identifying and sharing examples of good practice and then leading interventions as appropriate. Ensuring professional services staff continue to develop their services and operating models with values and behaviours that put the staff and student experience at the heart of our educational activities will be essential.

The role is part of the Faculty’s Central Services team which provides leadership for professional services across several areas and works closely with the Faculty’s Executive Board and Directors of Education. Our central services team is recognised for the contribution we make to realising the Faculty of Engineering ambitions, improving delivery of Faculty strategic priorities and achieving high value services for departments.

This is a significant leadership role, with the opportunity to positively impact on the performance of the Faculty. Experienced in delivering change in an education context, you will be an outstanding communicator and leader who is able to work with staff at all levels to establish effective collaborations across the organisation and beyond. Our team is looking for a highly organised individual, who is also flexible, calm and resilient. The ability to think, plan and act strategically and to develop and deliver strategies and plans effectively is also important.
