Position Overview & Specifications
We are seeking to recruit a PGR & Research Support Officer on an open-ended, full-time contract. It is expected that the working pattern will be based on a hybrid structure of three days working from the office and two days working from home, but we are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities with our staff which benefit both the individual and the University.
Reporting to the Department Manager, the PGR & Research Support Officer will be the first point of contact for our PGR students and have the responsibility of supporting all PGR activities including application process, handbooks, scholarships, and all communication to applicants and current students. You will ensure delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused service to students and staff and the timely delivery of the administrative processes which underpin core business functions throughout the student journey. You will provide administrative support for all events and meetings associated with PGR and research-related topics, provide support for knowledge exchange projects and also keep all of the relevant platforms up to date e.g. MyPublications, research ethics, departmental research funds and visiting scholars.
This varied role will require you to work creatively and collaboratively across the Department, the Faculty and the wider University with all constituents (academic staff, professional service teams and students) to strengthen and develop key processes, and to maximise the potential of the department’s research and innovation. The post requires excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to manage a challenging workload.
