Position Overview & Specifications
You will be embedded in an environment of high quality quantitative social research within the Centre for Care at the University of Sheffield, in a collaboration which also involves the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science, University of Oxford. Your work will include:
- Examining intersectional data of a range of wellbeing outcomes, including socioeconomic status, health and social relationships
- Using multiple large secondary datasets (including large-scale administrative records and longitudinal/life course surveys) to investigate intersectional inequalities, applying life course, geographical and socio-economic concepts
- Growing the data infrastructure on care.
You will be interested in generating impact from our research, and getting involved in our Centre-wide activities such as theory building workshops, capacity building events, co-production and user voice forums.
The Centre for Care is a new research centre established following a highly competitive process run by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The Centre is led by investigators in five universities, three major charities and the Office for National Statistics, and will work in close partnership with a large network of partners and leading international research teams, co-producing its research with people who need care, carers, care workers and others.
