Research Technician
Nutritional Sciences
Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician based in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. This is a 2 year post of 18 hours/week based in the Stable Isotope Group. The number of hours worked per day can be flexible.
The successful applicant will join a group researching the metabolic abnormalities in Diabetes and Obesity using stable isotope techniques. The post-holder will assist with the processing of blood samples from clinical trials, measurement of isotopic enrichment by mass spectrometry, measurement of metabolites using an automated analyser, equipment maintenance and general laboratory maintenance. Good organisational skills and an ability to work as part of a team are essential. You will be expected to strictly adhere to standard operating procedures and keep clear records of all laboratory work.
