Position Overview & Specifications
Vale Play Development Teamwork in various locations across the Vale, developing and delivering opportunities for children to play. Play sessions may run in parks, open spaces, woodland areas, beaches, schools, and community facilities throughout the Vale.
We offer training opportunities to families and professionals including play staff, school staff and community groups. We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team who now have the opportunity to grow and develop our play workforce to increase children’s opportunities to play in the Vale.
About the role
Pay Details: Grade 2, SCP 3 - £10.90/hour
This position is subject to the Living Wage supplement (agreed from 1st December 2022), which brings pay rates up to £10.90 per hour. This supplement will be reviewed annually. Vale of Glamorgan Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: The role is varied, and whilst our busiest times are during school holidays, we also facilitate sessions during term-time and on weekends
Main Place of Work: Various locations both indoors and outdoors across the Vale of Glamorgan
Temporary Reason: casual work based on project need
Description:
The flexible nature of this role means that it could be an ideal post for someone looking for a position during school holidays, as well as anyone looking for an opportunity to gain experience working with children in a play environment all year around.
The willingness to work in indoor and outdoor settings across the Vale in all weather conditions is essential as we do not let wet weather stop children having fun!
About you
We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for providing opportunities for all children to play, to join our growing playwork team.
At the Vale of Glamorgan we are able to offer the training and support to develop within the Healthy Living Team and We would offer Level One: Introduction to Playwork and other training opportunities.
