Employment law coach (flexible contract, UK remote)

Valla is a legal platform that connects litigants in person with coaches and legal professionals who can give them extra support. We are currently looking for Employment Law Coaches with employment law experience, including:

• legal professionals of all qualifications - CILEx, solicitors, barristers, etc.
• paralegals who work in employment law, and
• law centre advisors

This is a part-time contractor role where you can book your own appointments and choose your own hours. The contract rate is £30-£40/hr. (depending on legal experience) and we expect that you will have around 3-5 hours available per week in the first few months, growing to 10-12 hours a week within a few months.

As an Employment Law coach at Valla, you will use the easy Valla platform to support litigants and person as they navigate the Employment Tribunal process. This includes:

• Taking bookings for coaching clients and document review clients
• Answering client questions about the Tribunal process in 1-1 coaching calls on Zoom,
• Performing "peace of mind" checks on the documents they create using the Valla platform,
• Cheering them on as they work through the Tribunal process and offering tips and encouragement

Valla was built by two women who had issues at work and couldn't afford to hire a law firm to help them. We realised that so many people were unable to take serious issues forward because of high costs, so we created a platform that helps employees manage all the admin and document prep. That means that as a Coach, you won't be collating loads of documents or filling in forms, you'll be looking at real situations from real people and offering support and encouragement.

We are looking for people who:

• Want to directly support employees who are going through a difficult time
• Has a warm, friendly demeanor and likes chatting to people
• Is tired of working to targets and wants more rewarding work.

And in terms of your employment law experience, ideally you would have:

• Good experience in the Tribunal process, and
• a good understanding of UK employment law (England, Scotland and Wales)
