In 2023, the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships (‘2023 UCI Cycling Worlds’) will bring together 13 UCI world championships from 7 different cycling disciplines in one unprecedented event for the first time ever, which will see thousands of the world’s best able-bodied and para cyclists vying to be crowned world champion and win the prestigious ‘rainbow jersey’. The 2023 UCI Cycling Worlds is set to be the biggest cycling event ever to take place.

2023 Cycling World Champs are seeking an individual with experience in delivering and driving financial planning, analysis and reporting in a fast-paced environment. Working with senior stakeholders across the 2023 Cycling World Championships including direct support to the CEO to ensure accurate and detailed forecasting and reporting on all matters budget related; this is a critical hire for the Company. Working closely alongside the Financial Controller the successful individual will be a senior member of the Group Financial Services Team and Cycling Worlds Team.

Leading and delivering budget forecasts and supporting the Directorates to ensure adequate financial planning and budget setting is key as event time approaches

Qualifications

Qualifications - External

Experience

  • Experience working in a financial planning type role
  • Experience of reporting at a senior level
  • Previous event experience is desirable but not essential

Skills

  • A proven ability to communicate and work in partnership with multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capacity to collaborate and manage multiple functional areas and delivery partners simultaneously, effectively and efficiently, meeting deadlines and objectives.
  • Ability to create efficient systems to plan and manage the delivery of a complex budget.
  • Ability to successfully navigate the demands of an evolving organisational structure; remaining flexible, resilient and positive through organisational growth and other challenges.
  • Ability to identify project risks and issues, propose creative solutions and escalate as appropriate.
