Position Overview & Specifications

Vivienne Westwood is looking for an E-commerce Studio Stylist to join the team in the Merton office. The Stylist will ensure the quality assurance of styling on E-commerce shoots and delivery of stylised images is relevant for the target consumer. The Stylist is responsible for all the final styling direction and execution on B2B selling campaign and B2C website channels, in addition to achieving daily shoot targets across ecommerce whilst ensuring quality and consistency of styling is never compromised.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the representative for E-commerce styling across womenswear, menswear, accessories, and jewellery category product lines.
  • Gain knowledge of the brand, product design, key season looks, sizing and styling.
  • Establish an in depth understanding of the brand strategy and appreciate the importance of the overarching brand guidelines, and how this reflects for styling.
  • Prioritise all seasonal/ carry over content to be styled according to product drops and intake dates to ensure you are organised and shooting the correct products in the right timings.
  • Own curation of styling library and commercial looks, working collaboratively with Studio Co-ordinator and Stock Controller to manage stock and sample requests.
  • Coordinate the casting process, in collaboration with the Studio Operations Manager, manage the selection of castings/fittings to ensure models are fit for shoots.
  • Lead on styling vision, direction, concept, and execution meetings prior to the shoot. Deliver fashion authoritative styling across model and still life imagery for online product pages.
  • Provide visual references / mood-boards and guidance for ecom and reactive shoots for ecom where necessary. Encourage the team to provide ideas and creative input to elevate these shoots.
  • Ensure styling wardrobe, kit, consumables, and equipment are maintained and replenished, and maintain an organised shoot environment.
  • Keep up to date with industry shows, trends, street style, social movements, Instagram etc to stay inspired, bring the freshest ideas/approaches to styling. Maintain constant awareness of competitors, be ahead of the curve.
  • Take the lead with styling for model shoots and product shoots, work with the team on these projects to provide guidance, styling techniques and trend advice to enhance their work whilst working on set.
  • Action feedback provided by Studio Management regarding shoot and imagery feedback, changes in direction pre and in season, and any other essential information. Convert this into successful shoots that deliver brand credibility and sales. Highlight categories or areas which need refreshing and present ideas on refresh direction to Studio Management.
  • Participate and host where necessary, critique sessions to discuss content created, take on board feedback and find creative solutions to improve creative results and overall output.
  • Maintain and develop the styling resources on file, including a database of styling history and casting agencies. Own the process of quality control and archival management for styling archives.
  • Establish edit and maintain styling brand guidelines for on set shooting practices, striving for consistent and perfect final files to ensure website consistency and quality.
  • Work with Image Content Controller to carry out consistent and regular audits across the VW website, analysing existing styling for review, refresh, and reshoot.
  • Be the point of contact for any Styling related queries for Photo Studio or feedback.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years' experience working in luxury fashion, in a studio setting with styling teams.
  • Proven experience with delivery of styling.
  • Current and sound knowledge of photographic trends and techniques.
  • Ability to take and set creative direction, flexible and adaptable.
  • Good product sensitivity and strong market and fashion trends knowledge.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong PC Skills – Apple Mac / PC and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Product management background or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area.
  • Experienced in delivering digital and social assets with demanding deadlines and able to manage a high level of projects with a quick turn-around.
  • Experience working with brand guidelines and creating style/art direction guidelines.
