Love dogs? Miss having one but don’t want the commitment of owning one again? Maybe you have a resident dog who would enjoy the company of some holiday guests?

We Love Pets Solihull is looking to expand our team and find professional caring animal lovers to join our multiple award-winning pet care business. We are looking for dedicated and reliable people to offer our customers’ pets a home-from-home whilst their owners are away.

All our boarders are licensed, DBS checked, and pet first aid trained – don’t worry we will help you with all of these elements! It is important to us that our customers feel reassured that their pets are in the best hands, so you need to be ready to welcome their furry friends into your home and treat them as though they are your own during their stay!

You can expect to have one or two animals stay with you at a time so you will need to ensure that if you have your own animals, they would be happy to share their space. Unfortunately, if you have young children in the house this is likely to be an unsuitable role for you.

It is vital that you have your own home with a garden and no major commitments that will keep you out of the house for more than three hours at a time whilst you have boarding guests. You must be able to drive and have use of a suitable vehicle for transporting dogs if required.

How does it work?

You will usually look after one or two dogs at a time, while their owner is on holiday or at work. The aim is to integrate the pets into your family and your home, so they have a holiday all of their own. We will handle all of the bookings and paperwork side of things so you just have to provide the fun and cuddles!

All we need from you:

• Must be at home for most of the day
• Live within Solihull and have good local knowledge
• Love animals (experience of being a dog owner)
• Confident communication skills and happy to welcome customers and pets into your home
• Commitment (our pets build relationships with you, so consistency is very important)
• Access to a reliable mobile phone/internet access
• Secure and pet safe garden
• Resident pets to be welcoming of new friends and neutered
• Own car (fully insured, MOT and tax)
• Be willing to walk in all weathers and enjoy walking dogs!

Ideal candidates:

• We welcome applications from anyone over 18 with their own home or homeowner’s written permission.
• As it’s a part-time permanent position, it may suit semi-retired or retired people, someone looking for part-time hours or who works from home.

Salary: £20.00-£40.00 per day
